ウェールズの守護聖人である聖デイヴィッドが創建したセント・デイヴィッズ大聖堂を

女性の首席司祭が、特別に日本人のためにガイドしてくださいました。

関西ウェールズ協会と首席司祭との長年の交流が可能にしたもので、

キリスト教の知識が浅く、教会でのマナーに戸惑うこともある日本人訪問者のために、

丁寧に解説してくださっています。

英国内の大聖堂の構造はほぼ同じなので、ウエストミンスターやカンタベリー、

ヨークといった他の大聖堂を訪問するときにも役立つでしょう。

大聖堂から少し離れた海沿いの岸壁に建つ、

聖デイヴィッドの母・聖ノンに捧げたチャペルも取材。

聖デイヴィッドが生まれたといわれる礼拝堂跡や、

そのときに湧き出たといわれる泉もご紹介します。

An online virtual tour of St David's Cathedral, founded by St David, the patron saint of Wales.

The tour is specially guided for Japanese visitors by the female Dean.

This was made possible by the long-standing relationship between the Kansai St David's Society and the Dean. She provided a thoughtful explanation for Japanese visitors who may have limited knowledge of Christianity and feel uncertain about church etiquette.

As cathedrals in Britain have a similar structure, this information will also be useful when visiting others such as Westminster, Canterbury or York.

We also visited the chapel dedicated to Saint Non, the mother of Saint David, situated on the sea-facing quay, a short distance from the cathedral.

Then we show you the site of the ancient chapel remains where Saint David is said to have been born, and the spring which is said to have sprung forth at that time.
